General Information
We have answered all your questions about Az-Zahrah Hospital based on the questions below.
What is an Ibadah-Friendly Hospital (HMI)?
At Hospital Islam Az-Zahrah (HIAZ), we practice an ibadah-friendly (worship-friendly) medical service. Among them are:
- The practice of ABIS (Alhamdulillah, Bismillah, InsyaAllah, Syafakallah/Syafakillah) by medical staff in every stage of your medical care.
- Wards that emphasize privacy and modesty (aurah) for patients, guardians, and medical staff.
- Recitation of prayers and the declaration of faith (syahadah) before any major procedure is performed.
- Guidance during the childbirth process, including encouragement and motivation, the call to prayer (azan) after the baby is born, and explanation of postnatal cleansing (mandi wiladah).
- Encouragement to perform prayers in the ward, where we provide clean spaces, guidance for ablution (wuduk) or dry ablution (tayamum), prayer assistance, and prayer time announcements.
Why do I need to fast before undergoing surgery,
endoscopy, blood tests, or health screenings?
endoscopy, blood tests, or health screenings?
- Fasting before surgery helps prevent complications caused by nausea or aspiration, where food or liquid from the stomach rises and enters the lungs.Â
- For health screenings, fasting helps ensure your test results are accurate. Vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates, and proteins from food and drinks can affect blood readings and interfere with results.Â
- For endoscopy procedures, fasting ensures that your stomach or intestines are empty, making the procedure easier to perform.
Can I obtain medication without consulting a doctor?
You can only obtain controlled medications with a doctor’s prescription.
I do not have a guarantee letter but I am under panel coverage.
Can I receive treatment at HIAZ?
Can I receive treatment at HIAZ?
If you come to HIAZ as an outpatient, you must bring a Guarantee Letter (GL) to receive panel coverage. For inpatient or admission cases, you are required to pay a deposit of RM300 first, and HIAZ will contact your panel or insurance company to obtain the Guarantee Letter (GL).
